MediPAL Emergency Card for Stroke Survivors

Important medical information with you when you need it most

After a stroke, being able to communicate important medical information may sometimes be difficult — particularly for people affected by aphasia, speech difficulties or other communication problems.

A MediPAL Emergency Card is a hard-wearing, wallet-sized card designed to keep important medical information readily available if you are unable to explain it yourself.

Your MediPAL card can include:

Your name and date of birth
Your emergency contact
Current medication
Details of your previous stroke and other medical conditions
Allergies
Relevant medical history
GP details
Why carry a MediPAL card after a stroke?

In an emergency, you may be unable to communicate clearly or remember all the information someone needs.

A physical card carried in your wallet or purse provides a simple additional way of making important information available without relying solely on your memory or your mobile phone.

For someone who has experienced a stroke, the card could also identify that speech or communication difficulties may be the result of a previous stroke, where appropriate to that individual.

Information on both sides

MediPAL uses both sides of the card, providing space for your medication as well as important medical history and emergency information.

Each card is individually produced using the medical information you provide.

Designed to be carried every day

The MediPAL Emergency Card is approximately credit-card sized and made from hard-wearing plastic, so it fits easily into a wallet or purse.
